The law of anticipation states:- As within… So without…
The manner in which you feel about and respect yourself, is the manner that you tend to treat others, even when such feelings are buried so deeply that you are unaware of it. Other people are mirroring your own feelings back to you and it becomes an attribute, a characteristic manner to form or maintain relations and the way in which you interact with your environment. Thus, when you…
- are angry with yourself… you will find a lot of angry people around you.
- feel you are unable to do your job… you will be surrounded by people incapable to do their job.
- are dishonest… people around you are dishonest too, …etc.
Some times what seems like quite a complex issue to deal with, is actually extremely simple. To expect certain values, you yourself need to live by them (i.e. walk your talk). Do not expect loyalty, when you yourself ain’t loyal.
When we genuinely and truly want to change something in our lives, we must look within (internally) to alter our present believes and attitudes, in order for our outer world (external) to change. When we wish to change society or circumstances, enough people must change themselves, and when enough people change, the circumstances in our community will also change. Thus, surround yourself with a group of people believing in certain norms & values, similar priorities and get rid of, or just ignore those individuals that constantly violate what is important to you.
In reality, it isn’t nearly as easy as it sounds, there are still a lot of mistakes to be made and lessons to be learned, but persistence and the gaining of experience will provide answers to these questions, and create a higher level of awareness of how to establish a magnetic field around you that will encourage others to follow your example.
Please do not try and change the world (other people) around you, change yourself first, and the others will follow. Often much sooner than you think.
